Versatile Lighting Options Fulfil Stringent Standards
With the GuideLed self-contained luminaire series, Cooper CEAG has set a new standard in the safety lighting sector. Offering consistent compliance with standards, high economy, diverse mounting options, environmentally-friendly lithium ion battery technology and outstanding design, the new GuideLed escape sign and safety luminaires with self-contained battery technology also allows for convenient monitoring of all installed luminaires.

With GuideLed, an escape sign luminaire was developed that completely fulfils stringent standards, including the requirement for 500 cd/m2within the white surface, ensuring optimal recognition and a high level of safety. The basis for these values is the highly developed Lightguide technology that transforms the high point-sourced luminance of an LED into an illuminated surface with absolute uniform brightness. The 3-chip LEDs used in this process ensure a high level of operational safety and, with a service life of 50,000 hours, significantly reduce maintenance efforts. Its minimised power consumption of up to 60 percent below a comparable luminaire with fluorescent lamp also ensures a distinct reduction in operating costs.

Diverse mounting options with an exemplary design
The wide-ranging product portfolio makes the GuideLed escape sign luminaire a versatile solution featuring viewing distances of 20m or 30m, single-sided or double-sided options and multiple mounting types ideal for a variety of room sizes and applications. Concealed connections and a slimline construction also offer users an innovative solution and design.

GuideLed safety luminaires also impress with their flexible applications and are available as ceiling recessed and surface-mounted versions. Two optics specifically developed for emergency lighting requirements guide the light either longitudinally along the escape route or consistently over a very large area. Despite a compact construction and low connected load, GuideLed safety luminaires  prove a match for the more power-intensive fluorescent lamp luminaires  and allow spacing distances for standard-compliant illumination in accordance with EN 1838.

Equipped for all situations
Universal application possibilities typify all GuideLed CGLine luminaires. They can be operated with both maintained or non-maintained light and emergency light operating duration can be set with each luminaire individually to 1, 3 or 8 hours. The adjustable setting function allows the GuideLED luminaires to meet the different standards required for a variety of locations and applications and also minimise stock holding. Lumen output of the escape sign luminaires offers flexible control as well, including a dimmable function in mains operation to 10 or 30 percent. This is particularly beneficial in rooms with less ambient lighting including cinemas or theatres.

Automatic tests and central monitoring simplify inspection
Automatic test mechanisms have been built into all GuideLed self-contained luminaires, which significantly reduce efforts for the legally required inspections. All luminaire functions are automatically monitored, controlled and logged so that high-cost, manual inspections for each individual luminaire are no longer needed. Test results can be read from a status display directly on the luminaire and, with the aid of central web modules, are saved to SD cards for four years as an electronic log book. In this way, a larger project with up to 3200 self-contained luminaires can be monitored and, with the web modules, further functions such as the blocking of luminaires in idle operating times as required by standards become possible.
